David Duval has signed a endorsement that will see him playing with Scratch Golf clubs in the coming competition season.
Also, as part of the agreement, the former world No 1 will feature a Scratch Golf logo on his golf bag and cap.
"David Duval is one of the best players of his generation and we are excited that he has decided to become a part of our company," said Ari Techner, president of the relatively little known, however upwardly mobile Scratch Golf company.
"David has won championships around the world and has an massive following in the golf industry. We think he is a great addition to our Tour staff."
Duval, one of the few who have shot a 59 in top-level contest, was as well enthused by the alliance.
"I am extremely excited to join the Scratch Golf family. I put their clubs in play last season and they really made a difference to my match.
"In addition to playing the clubs, I look forward to working with the team at Scratch to create some new products and grow the brand in the coming years."
Duval left the Nike stable last fall and after initially playing with some Scratch wedges at the McGladrey Classic in October, he decided to go the full hog and play with a full set of Scratch irons, thus joining Cristie Kerr, another American star who has reached the summit.
Kerr, who captured the women's World No 1 ranking in 2010, has been playing with Scratch wedges since 2009.
Duval played in 24 PGA Tour events in 2010 with his best complete being a tie for second place at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
